LITERACY VOLUNTEERS ORIENTATION SCHEDULE Join us for a one-hour orientation session to learn about volunteer opportunities with Literacy Volunteers of Rensselaer County. The Orientation Session will give you an overview of our programs and give you an opportunity to have your questions answered. Orientation sessions are FREE and are generally one hour or less in length. Please call the Literacy Volunteers office at 274-8526 or email the Tutor Coordinator at lvorc-coordinator@nycap.rr.com to register for an Orientation Session.(Click on the Event Name for further information and for directions to the location.) Volunteers must be at least 18 years old and a high school graduate or have at least a GED. Literacy Volunteers Tutor Training Tutor Training prepares volunteers to provide one-to-one and small group tutoring in Basic Literacy and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). Adult literacy, Family to Family, and K-3 tutors are needed. Tutor volunteers must be a minimum of 18 years old and have at least a GED. If you are planning to volunteer as a tutor you should attend an Orientation Session.
