Tutors will be recertified every three years effective beginning July 1, 2001, by the Executive Director and/or Coordinator or the LVA-GRC.

Tutors must meet the following criteria:

  • Attend other planned gatherings of affiliate. (e.g. - Annual Dinner, Fall Festival Dinner, planned student/tutor outings, etc.)
  • Submit sample lesson plans.
  • Have a tutoring performance review conducted by staff.

Guidelines for Implementation:

  • A file will be kept on each tutor with the appropriate materials. (e.g.- proof of attendance at workshops or gatherings, lesson plans, etc.)
  • These files will be reviewed by the Executive Director, Coordinator, or qualified volunteer each April to ensure that the tutor is fulfilling his/her responsibilities.
  • The tutor will be issued a new tutor card every three years at our Annual Meeting in June.

Evaluation of the Process:

  • Each June the Program Committee will review the process to recertify the Tutors and make changes as necessary.
