The big news from LVORC is that after nearly 50 years in the same location, we have moved! Our offices are now located on the campus of Russell Sage College in Troy. On July 22nd, with the help of a crew of mighty volunteers, we moved our offices and resource center from the third floor of the administrative building of the First United Presbyterian Church, Troy (without benefit of an elevator!) to the third floor of 71 First Street in Troy. We love our new location, which is accessible by elevator, and which is in close proximity to the Troy Public Library’s Main Branch as well as central to the Sage community.

In other happy news, Habiba Mechakra, who serves as the Student Representative on LVORC’s Board of Directors, has become a Naturalized U.S. Citizen. Habiba is a native of Algeria and a former French teacher who loves her life here in the United States. She says, “As soon as my feet were on the ground on this country, I felt that I was American.”
