What reading materials are being used?Transcripts of audio stories we listen to and discuss. Content on PBS Learning Media site regarding "Career Hacks"
What writings have been done?Betul wrote a list of her volunteer experiences. She wrote some answers to the question "What is the number one thing in your life?" She wrote some sentences about her husband's volunteer work with the fire department, using vocabulary from an audio story about why people volunteer, called "The Gift of Giving."

Additional comments or student accomplishments.

Betul scheduled and completed a one hour resume and job search session with Marsha Lazarus, through the Albany Public Library, conducted online. She was pleasantly surprised to find she could understand Marsha and be understood. Betul has the beginnings of a good-looking resume, and has scheduled a second appointment for mid February. She continues to focus on working in a school as a teacher assistant or a monitor of some sort. She remains highly motivated for our sessions twice a week, and participates fully. I've added some dictation practice and she wants more of that. She would like to read a book in English, and we may try The Diary of Anne Frank.
