| Additional comments or student accomplishments. | Ozlem has enrolled her 4-year old son in pre-school and has been investigating going back to school herself. She has decided to obtain certification as a phlebotomist. She is well acquainted with the skills needed to perform this service as she has worked as a registered nurse for 15 years in Turkey. Since she is not ready to take the RN qualifying exam because her English is still not sophisticated enough, this is an interim step. It will give her a chance to hear English spoken,and familiarize herself with the health care vocabulary. This is an important move. Ozlem speaks very little English unless she is talking to me or it is a necessity. She has many Turkish friends and although her husband is fluent in English, they speak Turkish at home. |
